Emotional Go/No-Go Task

The Emotional Go/No-Go Task assesses response inhibition and attentional bias for emotional stimuli by presenting happy and sad face images. Participants are instructed to respond quickly to one type of emotional expression (e.g., happy faces) while withholding responses to the other type (e.g., sad faces). The task measures reaction times for correct responses and errors of commission (responding to no-go stimuli) and omission (failing to respond to go stimuli). Performance differences between emotional conditions can reveal biases in attention and response control related to emotional processing, making this task useful for studying depression, anxiety, emotion regulation, and the interaction between emotion and cognitive control.
