Aim and Scope

The International Journal of Humanities and Social Science (IJHSS) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to advancing knowledge across the humanities and social sciences. It serves as a global platform for scholars, educators, researchers, and practitioners to share original studies, conceptual frameworks, and critical analyses. IJHSS emphasizes interdisciplinary dialogue and cross-cultural perspectives, aiming to foster research that informs theory, guides policy, and addresses the complex social, cultural, and historical challenges of the contemporary world.

In the social sciences, IJHSS publishes research exploring human behavior, society, and governance. Relevant disciplines include sociology, psychology, political science, public administration, international relations, economics, development studies, demography, education, criminology, and social welfare. Contributions that illuminate social structures, institutional dynamics, or contemporary policy issues are particularly encouraged, including studies with comparative, global, or applied significance.

Within the humanities, the journal welcomes research that examines culture, history, thought, and human expression. Topics cover philosophy, ethics, literature, religious studies, linguistics, history, and cultural studies. IJHSS also encourages submissions in communication, media studies, and library and information science, particularly work that combines critical analysis with theoretical or practical insight into human knowledge and cultural processes. The journal also focuses on creative and interdisciplinary research, encompassing the visual and performing arts—including music, theatre, and dance—as well as cross-cultural and comparative studies. IJHSS values contributions that integrate artistic, social, and humanistic perspectives, offering new insights into cultural expression and its broader societal relevance. Recognizing rapid global transformations, IJHSS actively supports studies in emerging and contemporary areas. This includes digital humanities, artificial intelligence and data analytics in social research, digital media, globalization and transnational studies, migration and diaspora, gender and diversity, human rights, sustainability and climate change, governance of emerging technologies, cybersecurity, urban studies, post-pandemic societal change, mental health, education technology, and the future of work. Interdisciplinary approaches that bridge these themes with social, economic, or cultural perspectives are especially welcome. IJHSS publishes a variety of scholarly contributions, including original research articles, conceptual papers, empirical studies, case studies, analytical models, technical notes, and book reviews. Special issues focusing on significant or emerging topics are also periodically released. Available in both online and print formats, the journal is committed to maintaining rigorous standards of academic integrity, originality, and international relevance, while fostering the global exchange of ideas.
